Meeting #7 - Note to Parents

Our troop welcomed a new daisy on Tuesday. We now have 12 fabulous Girl Scout Daisys!

We opened the meeting by reviewing the flowers we have meet since last year:

• Lupe who taught us about being honest and fair
• Sunny who taught us about being friendly and helpful
• Zinni who taught us about being considerate and caring
• Tula who taught us about being courageous and strong

We practiced the GS Promise and sang some songs. Then we read a story about Gloria the Morning Glory, the purple daisy petal. With Gloria we learned about "Respecting Myself and Others". The girls took turns sharing about how they can respect themselves and others like Gloria.

The craft this week was a long and messy one, but the girls seemed to love it! Lots of paper and cutting! The purpose was to make a collage of all types of food, of all different colors, and then talk about making good food choices. However we ran out of time and did not have much of a discussion. We will touch up again on this topic at a later meeting to make sure the girls understand the concept and can earn their purple petal (“Respect Myself and Others”).




IMPORTANT Notes:

• Northborough Talent Show will be next Friday, February 3rd from 6PM to 8:30PM @ Algonquin Regional High School. There is a suggested donation of $10 per family at the door. For those of you who are coming, we will be meeting at the High School and the whole family is welcome to come. The girls will have a special place to sit in the front during the performance.
• Next meeting will be Tuesday, Feb 7th. This is the ONLY planned meeting for February as of now.
• Disney On Ice – I would like to order the tickets this weekend, so if you have not responded yet, please let me know if you are planning to come. I am thinking to place one order so we can all sit together, then you guys can send me a check for your tickets.
• Great job with the cookie sale! We already have a total of 351 boxes ordered and fulfilled so far. Our cookie mom, Karrie will be placing the next order next Saturday, February 4th.
