Our troop was represented at the Thinking Day event today by 4 of our girls. There were many countries represented. We found lots of flags and maps, fortune cookies in China, Italian meatballs, Greek cookies and pizza, kids Sangria in Mexico, Shamrock shake and Irish step dancing, lots of beading bracelets and necklace in India, fashionable push purses in France, etc. The girls were able to visit these tables and purchase these little trinkets and food from 25 cents to 1 dollar. This event was “girl led” which means the girls run the whole event, from planning, setting up, opening ceremony till the closing ceremony, and clean up. At the end the girls went on stage to give a donation to the Juliet Gordon foundation and get their “Thinking Day” patch. After a very long day and late night, I asked one of our girls 3 things she remembered from the event, here is what I got:

• In Brazil they speak Portuguese
• In China they eat with chop sticks
This year we were visitors. If the girls choose to do so, we could have our own table next year.
