2Y - Meeting #3 - Note to Parents

During meeting #3 we comcluded chapter 3 of our "Flower Garden" journey.  Campbell, Chandra, and Cora made new friends with Amazing Daisy, and her flower family. So far we've meet:

• Amazing Daisy - Represents the blue center "GS Promise"
• Sunny,the Sunflower from Great Britain - Represents the yellow petal "Friendly & Helpful"
• Zinni, the Zinnia from Mexico (Cora is also from Mexico) - Representeds the spring-green petal "Considerate and Caring"
• Mari, the Marigold from Africa who has family in France, central America and Mexico - Representeds the orange petal "Responsible for what I say and do"

This journey is a nice complement to the work we did last year, as the story introduces each part of the Girl Scouts rule.  We also did a craft to refresh on the Girl Scouts promise and sign (see picture below). This exercise fulfills the requirements for the blue center which represents the Girl Scouts Promise.

The girls got to examine the mini-garden we planted in September (Parsley, Basil, Chives and Four O’clock flowers), and water their plant. We will continue to care for the mini-garden each meeting.
